In response to the latest threats to the Access to Work scheme, the StopChange2AtW campaign has relaunched.

Our campaign will predominantly be on social media, however this website is available for quick/easy access to documents etc. Our 2015 campaign website is still live and viewable here, if you want to find out more about our previous work.

What we want?

  • The Access to Work Scheme to return to a needs-led rather than cost-limited support.
  • The UK government should stop changes to the support that people receive through AtW.The government should commission quantitative impact and value-for-money evaluations of AtW.
  • The government should improve people’s experiences of applying for AtW by reducing delays in AtW applications and supporting communication between AtW recipients and their advisors.

Latest research

We commissioned research by the Movement Research Unit (MRU) who examined all the existing data on the Access to Work scheme. Their recommendations are in line with our own. We would like to add the additional recommendation that there should be no upper limit to the amount of human support that can be provided.

We'd like to thank MRU for this report. The Movement Research Unit (MRU) offers free research support to movement groups and unions. Please support their vital work.

Get involved!

We need more volunteers. If you are deaf or disabled, or a support worker, please get in touch with us. You don't need any campaigning experience, we all work together as a team.

"The Access to Work scheme is vital for many, enabling us to excel in our chosen careers. These proposed cuts threaten to unravel years of progress."
